NW GOLDBERG CARES WELCOMES SIX NEW MEMBERS TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The young community development corporation also welcomes a new Executive Director

 

Detroit, MI – Following an extensive process, NW Goldberg Cares, a 501(c)(3) corporation, is welcoming six new members to its board of directors. 

The new members include:

  • Joshua Arntson, Director of Programs, Motor City Grounds Crew

  • Jason Barnett, Vice President, Lending, Invest Detroit

  • Deena Fox, Principal & Director of Project Management, ROSSETTI

  • Kimberly Hoyle, Business Development and Marketing Manager, NORR

  • Shannon Sclafani, Senior Director, Urban Land Institute

  • India Solomon, Program Officer, Enterprise Community Partners

The organization also welcomes Randal Jean-Baptise, as Executive Director. 

“I am excited to join Jordan and Daniel and the rest of the members of the Board of Directors at such an exciting time in the organization’s and neighborhood’s evolution,” said Jean-Baptiste. “I look forward to working with our neighbors as we add community development to our already robust placemaking capabilities.”  

Jordan Yagiela transitions to the role of Director of Programming, where she will continue to lead the organization’s placemaking strategy.

“We are excited for this new chapter in our organization to truly be able to tackle critical issues that plague NW Goldberg and its residents,” said Daniel A. Washington, founder and president of NW Goldberg Cares. “The team is excited to get to work and make an impact immediately.” 

The organization is currently fundraising in partnership with the Michigan Economic Development Corporation and Patronicity for the 6236. REST & RIDE PARK.  The REST & RIDE PARK will create a safe and comfortable place for residents, especially seniors, to gather and wait for the bus that runs through the NW Goldberg neighborhood.
