With $9,000 from Detroit Future City through the Working With Lots grant program, we were able to install Detroit’s first Holland Maze Lot Design. The design is inspired by the tulip fields of Holland, with lots of colorful perennial flowers, bulbs, and a small rain garden.

Bedrock donated over 1,200 tulips and more than 40 hours of volunteer time with their architecture team to help bring the design to life.

The HOLLAND MAZE LITERACY PARK will feature a beautifully designed garden, a seating area for group reading, a free little library, a community bulletin board, and a variety of birdhouses.

The park will also be home to the READING IN THE HOLLAND MAZE program, an effort championed by NW Goldberg Cares to increase pre-K through 5 literacy.
